About the Book
The book उत्तरआधुनिकतावाद: Postmodernism addresses the widespread discussion of Postmodernism across the world. Emerging in the 1990s, this intellectual movement represents a significant shift in Western societal and cultural thought. Postmodernism spans various fields such as art, literature, sociology, philosophy, social sciences, and architecture, signaling fundamental transformations in these areas.
Postmodernism offers an alternative to all traditional Western philosophical beliefs, presenting critiques of foundational principles, including concepts rooted in modern scientific thinking, historical narratives, and sociological and political ideologies. The book explores how Postmodernism challenges the institutions of modern life—especially political, economic, and cultural systems—and undermines the ideologies that justify their existence.
This book primarily assesses Postmodernism's influence on social sciences, analyzing its role in refuting established knowledge, historical ideologies, and sociopolitical beliefs. It also critically examines the impact of Postmodernism on modern thought and its implications for societies, especially in the context of third-world countries.
The book provides a comprehensive introduction to Postmodernism for Hindi readers, making complex ideas more accessible and useful. This is one of the first books in Hindi on the subject, offering a fresh perspective for readers interested in understanding Postmodernism in a socio-political and cultural context.
