Ahmet Gürbüz was born in 1964 in Bingöl. He graduated from the Faculty of Law, Istanbul University, in 1986. After completing his one-year attorney internship, he started his academic life in 1987 as a research assistant in the Department of Philosophy of Law and Sociology at the Faculty of Law, Dicle University. His Master’s thesis was titled “Plato’s Opinion of Law”. He completed his PhD in 1993 with his thesis titled “Theory of Utilitarianism in Terms of Legal Philosophy” under the supervision of Prof. Dr Vecdi Aral.In 2004, he was appointed as a professor in the Department of Philosophy of Law and Sociology, Faculty of Law, Dicle University.
