John R. Weeks is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Geography and Director of the International Population Center at San Diego State University. He is also a Clinical Professor of Global Public Health at the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine, and holds several other academic and research positions. With a doctorate in Demography from the University of California, Berkeley, and more than 140 peer-reviewed publications, Weeks is a leading expert in the field. His extensive research has been supported by grants from prestigious institutions such as the Andrew Mellon Foundation, National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, and NASA.
