She wrote extensively on the arts and was Life Trustee and President of the India International Centre.
Shankari Sundararaman is a Professor of Southeast Asian Studies and Chairperson of the Centre for Indo-Pacific Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University. She has an extensive research and teaching background with JNU and IDSA. She has also been a Visiting Fellow at ANU (Canberra) and CSIS (Jakarta).
