About the Book
The 73rd Constitutional Amendment of India was a groundbreaking step aimed at facilitating social change and justice for marginalized sections of society through reservations. This provision has made Panchayati Raj institutions more participatory and representative, allowing all segments of rural society to have a voice and ensuring a more democratic structure at the local level. The Amendment has not only inducted previously deprived groups into the ruling segments but has also ensured a life of dignity for them.

With women now actively participating in Panchayati Raj meetings, their views have gained significance in policymaking, contributing to the development of their villages. Women have begun to emerge from their homes, campaigning for elections, and requesting votes, which marks a significant shift in societal dynamics. This change is evident in the leadership growth among Dalits, STs, OBCs, and women, leading to a brighter future for these marginalized communities.

This study, based on primary data and field research conducted in Jaipur and Sikar Zila Parishads, provides an in-depth analysis of the impact of the 73rd Constitutional Amendment. It will be particularly beneficial for teachers, researchers, NGOs, policymakers, and development practitioners.
