About the Book:

"Indian Politics: Institutions and Processes" examines the key developments in Indian politics over the last 75 years since independence. It provides an in-depth analysis of India's political processes and institutions, covering a broad spectrum of political topics that have shaped the nation.

The book begins by discussing the evolution of the Indian Constitution, its making, and the key principles enshrined in the Preamble, along with the main features of the document. It explores the structure of the Indian government, the nature of centre-state relations, and the role of various constitutional bodies.

It also addresses critical social and political issues such as casteism, regionalism, terrorism, tribal rights, land alienation, and globalization. Moreover, it touches upon significant governmental policies such as demonetization, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, offering insights into their political and social impacts.

The book provides detailed discussions on statutory commissions and new administrative policies like NITI Aayog, TRAI, IRDA, National Skill Development Mission, and the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). It covers a variety of political science approaches, including public policy in India, and explains the complexities of the political processes that uphold India's constitutional framework.

This book is an essential resource for undergraduate and postgraduate political science students, as well as for candidates preparing for competitive exams like UPSC, Civil Services, State Group I and II Services, UGC JRF, and NET.
