About the Book
This book delves into the nuanced concept of development, especially within the context of India, where growth has been remarkable, yet uneven. One region where this disparity is most evident is Northeastern India. Despite India's overall growth, the Northeastern states have been marginalized in developmental discourse, facing numerous challenges that impede their progress.
Anupam Hazra’s work provides a fresh analysis of the region’s development struggles, examining the underlying causes of prolonged asymmetrical development. The book offers an in-depth look at the reasons why the Northeastern states have remained underdeveloped compared to other parts of India and how these issues have perpetuated over time.
With contributions from esteemed scholars, researchers, and experts in the field, this book presents a new perspective on the development and deprivation of Northeast India.
