About the Author: Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay

• Born: November 2, 1935, in Bikrampur, Dhaka (now Bangladesh).
• Early Life: Grew up in various parts of India, including Bihar, North Bengal, East Bengal, and Assam, due to his father’s railway job.
• Education: Studied at Victoria College and later pursued higher studies at Calcutta University.
• Career:
  • Started as a school teacher, later shifted to journalism.
  • Currently associated with Anandabazar Patrika.
  • His first published story appeared in Desh magazine.
  • Debut Novel: Ghûn Poka (ঘুণপোকা).
