📝 Description
About the Book
This thoughtfully curated collection of 24 short stories, compiled by Shiv K. Kumar, showcases some of the finest contemporary Indian writing in English. Originally published across various anthologies and literary journals in India and abroad, these stories capture the richness and diversity of modern Indian life.
While written in English, the narratives beautifully retain the essence and rhythm of Indian culture, echoing what Raja Rao described as the “tempo of Indian life.” Each story offers a distinct style and voice, yet all remain deeply rooted in the realities, emotions, and experiences of Indian society. This collection is ideal for readers seeking authentic and powerful storytelling with a strong cultural identity.
