Details: It is a coincidence as they are coming out in the 125th birth anniversary year of my grandfather Dada Dharmadhikari and the birth centenary of Shri Ramkrishnaji Bajaj to whom the essays are dedicated. Mr. Pradhan has also requested the eldest son of Ramkrishnaji to pen his thoughts. That is how the second generation of both families are associated with the reprints. Both families have a great legacy. Respected Ramkrishnaji. was the son of Jamnalal Bajaj whom Mahatma Gandhi referred as his fifth son. He was trusted by the father of the nation for his great skills, acumen and simplicity. In the preface to the first edition my father has elaborated how Ramkrishnaji was chosen as the youngest individual satyagrahi by Gandhiji. Both my father and Ramkrishnaji were blessed by Gandhi. My grandfather Dada Dharmadhikari gave up academic pursuits to participate in Gandhi’s movements. They were not only fight or battle for freedom but a process of self-realization so essential for waging a non-violent, peaceful struggle for swaraj. The movements aimed at eliminating negativity and enmity by creative efforts. The broom, the charkha and the flag were tools, not weapons of war, they had to play a constructive role in the course of the movement. Dada, my father, Justice C. S. Dharmadhikari and Ramkrishnaji were arrested frequently. While paying tributes, my father says that Ramkrishnaji looked at himself as a “servant of the industry.” He took pride in calling himself as “Gandhi’s coolie”
