About the Book
The status of women serves as a crucial indicator of the level of development and social sensitivity within a society. This book delves into the often-muted lives of women in India, particularly focusing on Rajasthan, and provides a comprehensive analysis of the challenges faced by women across tribal, rural, and urban segments of the society. By offering a comparative view of women’s status in these diverse areas, the book presents a holistic examination of the socio-economic and cultural factors that shape the lives of women.
The book explores the wide variations in the status of women, taking into account influences such as cultural norms, family structure, caste, class, and property rights. These factors are crucial in understanding the diverse experiences of women in different regions and communities. The study highlights the struggles, progress, and unique challenges faced by women, providing insights into their evolving role in contemporary Indian society.
