About the Editors
M.H. Makwana served as Professor and Head of Sociology at Gujarat University and later as Dean at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University of Social Sciences. A prolific scholar and institutional leader, he has contributed significantly to social science research and policymaking, including work with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Richard Pais is former Professor and Head, Department of Sociology at St Aloysius College, Mangaluru, and currently Vice-President of the Indian Social Science Association. A highly decorated academic, he has authored and edited 24 books, contributed numerous research papers, and serves as editor of several prestigious journals. He also acts as Academic Consultant for Sulabh International Social Service Organisation.
