About the Book
This book delves into the heterogeneous social status of tribal women across different regions and tribes in India. Despite various legal safeguards and development programs, tribal women continue to face oppression, exploitation, and discrimination in various aspects of life. The work provides an in-depth examination of the status of tribal women, analyzing their position in society from a historical perspective and highlighting the factors contributing to their changing status.
The book addresses critical concerns regarding the empowerment of tribal women, including:
-
How to educate tribal women and raise awareness about their basic rights.
-
Formulating and implementing policies tailored to their needs.
-
Bridging the gap between the aspirations and accomplishments of tribal women.
-
Sensitizing global forces to work in favor of tribal women, particularly at the village level.
-
Strengthening government programs for the broader benefit of tribal women.
By shedding light on these pressing issues, this book serves as a valuable resource for students, scholars, NGOs, policymakers, and change agents involved in the understanding and advancement of tribal women.
