About the Book
सामाजिक चिन्तक एवं सिद्धान्तकार (Sociological Thinkers And Theorists) is a comprehensive introduction to the life and works of key sociological thinkers, presented in a concise and accessible manner. This book includes not only Western thinkers but also thinkers from Eastern and Arab countries such as Manu, Kautilya, and Ibn Khaldun, who have had a significant influence on the subject of sociology and its major themes, including society, social structure, social processes, and social norms.
One of the distinctive features of this book is its inclusion of thinkers from diverse fields like economics, political science, psychology, philosophy, anthropology, and history, who have contributed to shaping sociological thought. In addition to the classical Western thinkers, the book brings forward the thoughts of scholars from India and the Arab world, making it unique.
The second edition updates the content to reflect recent changes in syllabi and introduces new thinkers such as Ambedkar, Hardiman, Bose, Surjeet Sinha, and others. The author has also expanded on key sociologists like Mikhail Bakhtin, Noam Chomsky, and made necessary revisions to the writings of others like Giddens, Althusser, Habermas, Marx, Mos, and Srinivas.
This book is designed for both general readers and students of sociology at higher levels, as well as for competitive exam aspirants.
