About the Author
Kanhaiya Lal Sharma is the current Vice-Chancellor of Jaipur National University. He has served as the Vice-Chancellor of Rajasthan University, Jaipur, and as the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has been a professor of sociology at the Centre for the Study of Social Systems, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and has also been a guest professor at the College de France, Paris, five times. He has extensively written and published works on social stratification, mobility, and movements related to peasants and tribes.
