The book Research Methodology and Information Literacy (ACRL Standards) deals with interdisciplinary topics such as Research Methodology and Information Literacy. In author’s view the book is most significant in a developing country like India as information literacy skills are almost absent right from school education to college education and in higher education to research. This book tries to fill the gap of information literacy in overall educational systems in this country. Having some experience of teaching ACRL Information Literacy Standards for M.Phil. course in one of the open universities in India and having long association with research in the field of library information science the author always felt the need of  linking research methodology skills with that of   information literacy (ACRL standards)  competencies with view to provide an important point of view to the researchers and help them in making research work truly interesting  and to provide an invisible guide to the researchers ,which will ultimately help them in producing quality research output.

The book gives a fair idea about the research methodology to the reader and then introduces information literacy including international standards(ACRL and AASL) in information literacy to them; further the book discusses how to apply information literacy competencies in research process; subsequently  it links information literacy competencies(ACRL Standards) with that of research skills and the finally suggests a draft Information literacy programme for Ph.D. entrance test  and research course  work in India goes on to draft a syllabus for the same. The author hopes that research departments in Indian universities and the institutes devoted to research  would overwhelmingly adopt the programme in their curricula in-order to improve overall  quality of research in the country.
