Kamal K. Misra is a Professor and former Head of the Department of Anthropology at the University of Hyderabad. He has been a recipient of the Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship and Fulbright Fellowship. His academic interests include Environmental Anthropology, Anthropological Linguistics, and Anthropology of Gender. With over 50 research papers published globally, his expertise in these areas makes this volume an essential contribution to the study of gender in India.

Janet Huber Lowry is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Austin College, USA, and has a specialization in gender studies, demography, and research methods. She has contributed significantly to the development of gender research in the social sciences.
