About the Book
In the age of globalization, NGOs have become increasingly influential in fields such as health, education, income generation, environment, microfinance, social forestry, and rural development. While NGOs cannot replace the state, they can play a complementary and supplementary role in development efforts. However, these organizations face a range of difficulties and criticisms at the organizational level.
This book delves into these complexities and analyzes the current developmental efforts of NGOs in India. It is divided into two sections:
-
Section 1: Ten chapters that address the developmental aspects of NGOs, including their contributions and challenges.
-
Section 2: Three chapters that focus on the organizational aspects, shedding light on how NGOs function internally.
The book explores how NGOs can significantly contribute to development, and it discusses the extent to which the state depends on these organizations in this era of globalization.
