About the Book:

The Laxmi Learning Planet English Grammar series (Classes 1-5) is a component of the Laxmi English Learning Programme. Learning Planet is a complete set of curriculum books catering to all scholastic and co-scholastic subjects recommended by NCERT at primary level. It has been developed for students of CBSE affiliated schools and follows the National Curriculum framework of NCERT.

The series is designed on the principles of communicative approach to the teaching-learning of English in order to make learning lively and active. It aims to cater to the linguistic and communicative needs of learners so that that they can use English effectively, accurately and creatively in real life situations.

At the end of the course, the students are expected to develop the four of effective communication skills in terms of listening, speaking, reading and writing as well as improve their knowledge of Grammar, Vocabulary and Pronunciation through practical application. The assessment pattern is pre-defined by the specific learning outcomes of each unit of the syllabus.

Each grammar book consists of three sections-- Grammar and Vocabulary, Comprehension and Composition.

Grammar and Vocabulary: In this section, grammar and vocabulary concepts have been covered in great detail. Every concept is reinforced with ample practice exercises.

Comprehension: The aim of this section is to hone the comprehension skills of the learners through reading, picture and listening comprehensions.

Composition: This section aims at encouraging and guiding the learners to write. Guidelines and examples have been provided for the learners to develop their creative writing skills.

The Laxmi English Learning Programme includes a coursebook, a workbook (an extension of the coursebook) and a teacher manual (containing the answer keys to the coursebook and the workbook), a reader, a grammar book and a companion CD for each grade.

The Learning Planet series is preceded by the Learning World series for pre-primary and succeeded by the Learning Universe series catering to

Classes 6-8.
