About the Author / Editor
विवेक कुमार is a globally recognized professor of sociology. He is the former Chairperson (Head of Department) of the Department of Sociology at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. He currently serves as the Executive Chairperson of the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation’s Ambedkar Chair in Sociology at the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. He is also a former Coordinator of the Global Studies Program at JNU. Some of his prominent works include Caste and Democracy in India: A Perspective from Below, India’s Roaring Revolution, Dalit Leadership in India, and Caste, Reservation, and Dalits in Democracy. Prof. Kumar has traveled academically to numerous countries, including the UK, USA, Canada, Germany, Spain, Australia, Japan, South Africa, Brazil, Sri Lanka, UAE, Nepal, and more.
