About the Book:

"Indian Politics: Institutions and Processes" examines the significant developments in the Indian political process and its institutions over the last 75 years of independence. The book provides a detailed account of the evolution of the Indian Constitution, its formation, the principles laid out in the Preamble, the main features of the Constitution, the structure of the Indian government, and the nature of centre-state relations.

Addressing important political issues such as casteism, regionalism, terrorism, tribal rights, land alienation, and globalization, the author also discusses recent governmental policies like demonetization, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and more. The book delves into statutory commissions and new administrative policies like NITI Aayog, TRAI, IRDA, the National Skill Development Mission, and the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

It covers multiple approaches to studying political science and public policy in India, while highlighting the complexities of political processes within the framework of India’s constitutionally guaranteed establishments. This book is essential for undergraduate and postgraduate students of political science, in line with the revised common core syllabus of all universities. It is also useful for candidates preparing for competitive exams such as UPSC, Civil Services, State Group I and II Services, UGC JRF, and NET.
