About the Author


Dr Darvesh Gopal is Distinguished Professor of Political Science in India. He is at present the Director of National ODL Centre for Local Self Governance after serving as the Director of School of Social Sciences (2013-2016), Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. He has been member of different academic committees at various Universities and academic institutions in India and abroad. Prof. Gopal has made substantial and numerous contributions to the field of research and knowledge production. He conceptualized, developed and coordinated several courses since the commencement of Faculty of Political Science, IGNOU like Australian Studies Programme, Gandhi and Peace Studies, Sustainable Development etc. Several accolades have been bestowed on him for his outstanding achievements including the Gold Medal for “Best Research Paper Award 2017 His recent publications include

Dr Dalbir Ahlawat is a Senior Lecturer and Higher Degree Research Director at the Department of Security Studies and Criminology, Macquarie University, Australia. He has over 15 years experience of working with government agencies, academic institutions and conducting research both in Australia and overseas. In the process, he has taught courses on international security, supervised PhD students, published three books and several research papers, worked in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and International Organisation for Migration.
