About the Book:
In Globalization and Social Change, Ellina Samantroy presents a fresh perspective on the profound effects of globalization on India's social fabric. As globalization reshapes economies worldwide, the book examines how the integration of the Indian economy into the global system has both enhanced its economic strength and created new challenges. Through wider access to technology and benchmarking against global standards, India has become more robust in many respects.
However, globalization's influence has also exacerbated social and economic inequalities. This book critically reflects on the growing divide between different social strata, highlighting how the benefits of globalization have not been equitably distributed.
This work serves as a comprehensive exploration of the ongoing debates on globalization and its social impact, making it an invaluable resource for students, researchers, and policymakers interested in understanding the complex dynamics between globalization and social change in India.
