Details: Gandhi’s Delhi is an attempt to bring to the forth many hidden facts about Mahatma Gandhi. For instance, it is belived that Gandhiji did nothing to save Bhagat Singh from the gallows of death. This is nothing but travesty of facts. This book discusses at length as to how Gandhiji tried his best to save him and his comrades. It tells you that Delhi was another Noakhali for Gandhiji. After quelling riots in East Bengal, he went on a fast to put moral pressure on miscreants in Delhi post partition of India in 1947. His fast had a magical impact and riots were controlled here. Two Icons chapter discusses the delicate relations between Bapu and Baba Saheb Ambedkar. The book also throws light on some unknown facts about Harilal Gandhi, the first son of Gandhi. While it is still not clear whether he was there at the funeral of his father or not, it is a fact that the estranged son suddenly appeared at the Connaught Place residence of his younger brother, Devdas, after couple of days of Gandhiji's death. Delhi had also seen father of the nation in the role of a teacher? Gandhi’s Delhi tells you that where he used to teach? Gandhi ji had visited Birla Mandir and Dargah Qutbuddin Bakhtiar Kaki too. His visits to these two shrines were not religious. The book tells you the reasons for his making trips there. The reasons were really important to know.
