About the Book
This book offers a clear and accessible introduction to the concept of E-Governance, especially from the perspective of a novice user. It begins by outlining the fundamentals of E-Governance, and then delves into India’s journey in adopting digital governance through diverse case studies, metrics, and national initiatives. Readers will find a comprehensive overview of the historical evolution of E-Governance globally, followed by a detailed examination of India’s own implementation strategy, including its framework under the National E-Governance Plan (NeGP).
With well-organized chapters contributed by seasoned experts, the book covers the status of India in UN E-Government reports, regional progress across Indian states, and the influence of evolving technology trends. A dedicated case study section and an appendix showcasing major state-level initiatives further enrich the text. The blend of theory and practice makes this book an essential first reference for professionals, researchers, and students involved in digital governance projects in India.
