📖 Book Description:

Digging Through Time: A Critical Companion to Twenty Poems examines twenty prescribed poems not as isolated texts but as interconnected responses to changing human experience. Spanning poetry from the nineteenth century to the post-1950 period, the book traces the evolution of themes such as nature, memory, time, identity, and poetic voice.

It moves from the imaginative richness of Romantic poetry and the moral depth of Victorian verse to the fragmentation and complexity of modern and postcolonial writing. Through close reading, the author carefully explores imagery, rhythm, silence, and historical context—without reducing the poems to simple summaries.

Designed especially for undergraduate students, this book makes poetry intellectually accessible while preserving its depth, nuance, and interpretative richness. It serves as both a study guide and a thoughtful critical companion.
