About the Book:
Changing Worlds, Changing Nations: The Concept of Nation in the Transnational Era explores the evolving dynamics of nationalism and transnationalism. The book investigates how global changes influence people's identities and realities in the context of nation-states. The term 'transnationalism' is often seen as straightforward but is deeply complex and multifaceted. It challenges traditional notions of centrality and periphery, acting as a bridge between nation-states, transcending borders, and enabling cultural and political exchange.

This thought-provoking volume consists of 13 contributions that examine the feasibility of nation-states in a transnational era and explore the intersection of language, culture, and identity. Using India as a primary case study, the book extends its analysis to global contexts, providing fresh perspectives on post-colonial and transnational issues. Each article encourages discussions that aim to analyze literary works in the light of these contemporary global shifts.

Contents:

  • Nationalism and Transnationalism: Defining New Boundaries

  • Cultural and Political Interplay Across National Borders

  • The Role of Language and Culture in Shaping National Identity

  • Transnationalism: A New Form of Multi-Nationalism

  • The Indian Context: Nationhood and Transnationalism

  • Exploring the Ethics of Post-Colonial and Transnational Issues
