Dr. V. Suguna Sharma is an Assistant Director in the Andhra Pradesh State Department of Archaeology & Museums, Hyderabad. She has a distinguished academic career, having obtained M.A., M. Phil, and Ph.D. degrees from Osmania University, Hyderabad. Dr. Sharma is actively involved with several academic bodies and institutions, including being a life member of the Indian Art Historical Society and the Andhra Pradesh History Congress. She serves as an external jury member for Vishwa Bharati University, Shantiniketan, and is a recognized resource person for the Sri Potti Sri Ramulu Telugu University in Hyderabad.
She has presented research papers at numerous national and international seminars and contributed articles to renowned research journals both within India and abroad. Dr. Sharma has extensively traveled within India and abroad, particularly to the northeastern Himalayan belt, Nepal, and Tibet, where she focused on Buddhist studies and Tibetan Thankas. Her other works include Studies in Indian Textiles, History and Antiquities of Raichur Fort, and Fabric Treasures of Andhra Pradesh. She is also working on Ikat Fabrics – A Study, which is in progress.
