About the Authors / Editors

Yogendra Singh:
Yogendra Singh is a renowned sociologist and has held senior academic and administrative positions at several universities, including being an Emeritus Professor of Sociology at the Centre for the Study of Social Systems at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has been a member of the Planning Commission, and the Research Advisory Committee of ICSSR, and served as the convenor of the national panel on sociology for the University Grants Commission. He has delivered lectures in various countries and worked in South Asian regions, earning many prestigious awards for his contributions to sociology and social anthropology.

Manju Bhatt:
Manju Bhatt earned her M.A. in Sociology from Rajasthan University in 1976, and her M.Phil. in Sociology from Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University, in 1985. She received her Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University in 1995. Throughout her career, she has held various academic positions, including as Head of the Social Science Education Department at NCERT, where she worked on curriculum development for sociology in 11th and 12th grades. She retired from NCERT in 2018.
