He graduated from Calcutta University and began his career in 1942 with the ARP and later in 1943 at the Munition Production Depot in Asansol. In 1944, he joined the railways in Varanasi.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eKar had a significant role in the Bengali literary world, serving as co-editor of the \u003cem\u003eParag\u003c\/em\u003e magazine, edited by Manilal Bandopadhyay, and later as sub-editor for \u003cem\u003ePashchimbanga\u003c\/em\u003e magazine and \u003cem\u003eSatyajug\u003c\/em\u003e magazine between 1946-1952.
