In these ceremonies, the Brahmin Grand Master hands over the statues of Lords Shiva and Vishnu as symbols of the keeper of Divine Values (dharmaraja), along with the Sacred Sword, accompanied by the mantra: "Take, for Thou art the Lightning of Indra." The Grand Master is referred to as Rama-rajya-adhipati. Prof. RaghuVira aimed to publish all 442 Sanskrit inscriptions of Cambodia in Devanagari along with their facsimiles. Prof. Coeaes provided a list, which is reproduced here, showing how Sanskrit was the official language of the state until the 12th century. Following extensive negotiations, the Government of Cambodia sent monk Ven. Candravarna in 1961 to transcribe the Cambodian texts into Devanagari and provide English summaries. Both the transcriptions and summaries are included in this volume.
