Literature in Indian languages often leads readers to a sense of nostalgia, but the true creators of history, even with myth-centric writing, do not make the reader trapped in the past; they develop their life awareness. Historians view history from their perspective, and so do writers, but if both perspectives are enlightened, they can both develop the life-awareness of the reader. The approach to viewing history may differ between the two, but the results can be the same.

Focusing on the struggle for independence and Gandhi's life, the heroes who fought against the seemingly invincible British power were centered around Gandhi, the great leader. However, figures like Motilal Nehru, Madan Mohan Malaviya, Lala Lajpat Rai, Chitranjan Das, Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhas Chandra Bose, Jinnah, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, and Ram Prasad Bismil also held immense importance. Once, people asked Gandhi whether Motilal Nehru’s patriotism was greater than his love for his son. Gandhi's almost silent response was, "His patriotism is the result of his love for his son." Motilal Nehru had written a letter to Gandhi expressing his wish that the Congress President's post would be held by his son Jawaharlal during his lifetime, and Gandhi fulfilled this wish in 1929. Gandhi’s inclination toward Jawaharlal was openly revealed when he made his son the head of the Congress. History silently records such decisions of the great leader.

Subhas Chandra Bose and Nehru both referred to Gandhi as 'Bapu,' but Gandhi trusted Nehru much more than Bose. Gandhi felt that over time, Subhas would not follow him. Therefore, he was often at odds with him. (The period of Nehru’s rule stands as a witness to who actually followed Gandhi's guidance.) Later, Subhas Chandra Bose formed the Indian National Army and launched an armed struggle against the British. This decision was deeply influenced by Gandhi's additional attachment to Nehru, as any victory by Subhas would have been Gandhi’s personal defeat. We know that Gandhi did lose once, but Subhas Chandra Bose resigned and saved him from that loss. Otherwise, the first Prime Minister of this country would have been Subhas Chandra Bose or perhaps Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The decision regarding the first Prime Minister of the country was also the result of Gandhi's personal wishes, as he was the great leader of his time.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0690/9968/4144/files/image_16_265bb7c8-a96a-487b-83c8-656f229aaeb3.jpg?v=1775116323
https://www.retailmaharaj.com/bn/products/%e0%a4%b8%e0%a4%ae%e0%a4%95%e0%a4%be%e0%a4%b2%e0%a5%80%e0%a4%a8-%e0%a4%ad%e0%a4%be%e0%a4%b0%e0%a4%a4%e0%a5%80%e0%a4%af-%e0%a4%b8%e0%a4%be%e0%a4%b9%e0%a4%bf%e0%a4%a4%e0%a5%8d%e0%a4%af-%e0%a4%b8%e0%a4%be%e0%a4%b9%e0%a4%bf%e0%a4%a4%e0%a5%8d%e0%a4%af-%e0%a4%85%e0%a4%95%e0%a4%be%e0%a4%a6%e0%a5%87%e0%a4%ae%e0%a5%80-%e0%a4%95%e0%a5%80-%e0%a4%a6%e0%a5%8d%e0%a4%b5%e0%a5%88%e0%a4%ae%e0%a4%be%e0%a4%b8%e0%a4%bf%e0%a4%95-%e0%a4%aa%e0%a4%a4%e0%a5%8d%e0%a4%b0%e0%a4%bf%e0%a4%95%e0%a4%be-%e0%a4%b5%e0%a4%b0%e0%a5%8d%e0%a4%b7-41-%e0%a4%85%e0%a4%82%e0%a4%95-211-%e0%a4%b8%e0%a4%bf%e0%a4%a4%e0%a4%82%e0%a4%ac%e0%a4%b0-%e0%a4%85%e0%a4%95%e0%a5%8d%e0%a4%9f%e0%a5%82%e0%a4%ac%e0%a4%b0-2020-contemporary-indian-literature-bimonthly-magazine-of-sahitya-akademi-year-41-issue-211-september-october-2020
